Why (gestures) all of this?

Why not? At times, I get inspired to write about something I know, something I’ve just discovered and dug into a bit more deeply, or something I know nothing about but am making a snap judgment on, to then see how far off the mark I am.

At times, people have told me they find these jeremiads to be interesting, verging on entertaining, if for no other reason than they’ll occasionally pick up (and likely immediately discard) a new piece of vocabulary, like “jeremiad.”

I like to share what I learn in my readings, but to also think about how to synthesize that knowledge and integrate it into other bits and pieces of what interest me: these learnings don’t exist in a vacuum, so context frequently can become the most interesting bit.

Or maybe if I’m particularly lucky, the “Updates” folder! That’s right! You can virtue signal your support for some random stranger on the internet’s ramblings by subscribing! Fortunately, my infrequent posting will make this mostly a non-issue for your inbox.
